Using a positive youth development approach, Change 4U Reentry places participants into gender-specific groups in order to gain essential life, social, and competency skills. Through an uplifting peer-to-peer model, participants are able to lead by example and discover what it means to be a good role model and leader. Funding for Change 4U Reentry is provided by multiple sources annually.
Participant Profile: Participants are youth from ages 12-18 who are seeking assistance in the development of positive social, coping, and problem-solving skills in order to discover leadership and self-worth.
Breakdown of Services: Change 4U Reentry is a 1:1 mentoring program designed to assist youth in gaining the needed competencies for essential life, social, and behavioral skills. Using a restorative practice model, we assist youth who have exhibited poor decision-making skills. This program helps participants gain the necessary skillsets to transition from the juvenile justice system to become successfully independent adults.
