Position Title: Youth Worker
Status: Part-time (Up to 20 Hours)
Reports To: Program Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Youth Worker (YW) will support the functions of the Program Coordinator. The YW will supervise other Youth Workers, Youth Advocate, and interns. The YW will assist the youth during all components of the program daily structure.
Primary Function:
- • Support the ERC staff, youth, and volunteers
- • Participate in staff meetings
- • Supervise/Assist staff during structured activities and community outings
- • Supervise/Assist staff with monthly activities calendar
- • Supervise/Assist youth with monthly newsletter
- • Assist with the development of the daily program schedule
- • Educate and facilitate groups with youth on weekly topics, current events, and program rules
- • Perform administrative tasks including filing, data entry, surveys, progress notes, monthly and quarterly reports, and grant assistance
- • Drive youth to and from program and events
- • Attend meetings in the community as a Lead4Life, Inc. ERC representative
- • Manage the transportation component and vehicles
- • Complete daily progress reports on individual youth in SharedVillage
- • Complete monthly reports
- • Responsible to implement program developed to enhance the youth quality of life
- • Ensure youth are actively involved in daily activities and abiding my program rules
- • Represent Lead4Life in the community in a positive manner
Education:
- • Bachelor’s Degree
- • Minimum of two years in the field of mental health, criminal justice system, and/ substance abuse
Skills:
- • Demonstrate skills in positive communication
- • Experience with diverse populations
- • Knowledge and understanding of mental health and substance abuse issues
- • Innovative thinker
- • Maintain a good driving record
Working Conditions:
- None: The worker is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
